June was more or less a blockbuster month on OTT platforms. We had experienced big films like Sherni, Jagame Thanthiram, Cold Case, The Family Man Season 2, hogging the limelight. Even July started with a bang on the digital platforms. We've seen a smorgasbord of releases, including the much-anticipated and long-delayed films including Farhan Akhtar's Toofaan, Taapsee Pannu's Haseen Dillruba, Fahadh Faasil's Malik, and others.

Mimi (Netflix):

 Mimi, which will be released on Netflix on July 30, reunites Pankaj Tripathi and Kriti Sanon in a film. It's a comedy-drama that's a remake of the Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy!, which won a National Award (2011).

 Bhanu (Pankaj Tripathi) introduces Mimi, a young woman played by Kriti Sanon, to an American couple who want her to be their surrogate mother. After hearing their offer of Rs 20 lakhs, Mimi agrees to be a surrogate. However, the couple decides they don't want the kid after a few months and asks her to abort it. Mimi declines, and everyone suspects Bhanu of being her child's father.

14 Phere: (ZEE5)

The film stars Vikrant Massey and Kriti Kharbanda. 14 Phere is a social comedy that is based on a humorous love tale. Everyone's attention has already been drawn to the trailer.

Sanjay Singh (Vikrant), a ‘Rajput' from Bihar, and Aditi Karwasra (Kriti), a ‘jat' from Jaipur, and their love story, adventures, and misadventures are the centerpiece of the movie, which will premiere on ZEE5 on July 23.

Feels Like Ishq (Netflix)

Netflix's latest anthology series appears to be a breath of fresh air. Feels Like Ishq is a story of six young adults who are on a roller coaster ride of finding love in all the unexpected places. These stories are directed by Tahira Kashyap Khurrana, Ruchir Arun, Danish Aslam, Anand Tiwari, Jaydeep Sarkar, and Sachin Kundalkar. Amol Parashar, Tanya Maniktala, Radhika Madan, Neeraj Madhav, Rohit Saraf, Simran Jehani, and others star in the anthology. Feels Like Ishq will premiere on Netflix from Friday, 23 July.


Hungama 2 (Disney Plus Hotstar)

Hungama 2, the sequel to director Priyadarshan's 2003, successful comedy Hungama is one of the most awaited films of the weekend. Meezaan's character tries to prove that he is not the father of his college girlfriend's child in the film.

 Shilpa Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Meezaan Jafri, and Pranitha Subash star in the film. Rawal will reprise his role as Radheshyam Tiwari from the first film, which also starred Akshaye Khanna, Rimi Sen, and Aftab Shivdasani.


Ikkat (Amazon Prime Video)

The Kannada language comedy film ‘Ikkat,' starring Bhoomi Shetty and NS Nagabhushana premiered on Amazon Prime Video on July 21. The film contains countless humorous moments and is certain to make you laugh out loud.

The film is a direction by Esham and Haseen Khan. It stars Bhoomi and Nagabhushana in pivotal roles who are an unhappy married couple. As they are on the verge of getting a divorce they are compelled to spend time with each other as a nationwide lockdown gets declared due to a pandemic. 



Hostel Daze (Amazon Prime Video)

 

Adarsh Gourav, who was nominated for a BAFTA for his role in Netflix's The White Tiger features in Hostel Daze Season 2. Luv Vispute, Shubham Gaur, Nikhil Vijay, Ahsaas Channa, and Ayushi Gupta also star in the TVF series. The freshers-turned-seniors appear to be getting loose in the trailer of Hostel Daze's second season.

 In the first season of Hostel Daze, the freshmen experimented with their newfound independence in college while simultaneously dealing with the seniors' antics. The tables have now been turned, and the guys and girls get the opportunity to let free and order the freshmen around. Hostel Daze Season 2 starts streaming from July 23.
